Every structure is built from structural-grade timber with correctly footed posts and weatherproof fixings. We primarily use pressure-treated softwood for excellent durability, and can source premium hardwood such as oak or iroko for a superior finish. Roof options include open-beam, slatted and solid panel, with integrated lighting available.

Pergola costs depend on size, timber type and roof specification. A standard freestanding timber pergola typically ranges from Β£1,500 to Β£4,000 fitted. More complex structures with solid roofing, integrated lighting or premium hardwood will cost more. We provide free, detailed written quotes β call 07717 389275 to arrange a visit.
Most pergolas are classed as permitted development and do not require planning permission, provided they are not more than 4 metres in height and cover less than 50% of the garden area (outside the footprint of the house). Lean-to pergolas attached to the house may be treated differently. If youβre in a conservation area or on a new-build estate with planning conditions, check with your local authority β weβll advise during our site visit if anything looks unusual.
A standard freestanding pergola typically takes one to two days to install. More complex structures may take longer, and weβll agree a timeline with you at the quotation stage.
We primarily use pressure-treated softwood, which provides excellent durability and weather resistance. For premium projects we can source hardwood such as oak or iroko, which gives a superior finish and is naturally more durable.
Absolutely β a pergola over a decked area is one of the most popular garden combinations we install. Weβll design the two elements to work together structurally, with the pergola posts footed into the deck frame or the ground below as appropriate.
